I commute from Brooklyn to Manhattan everyday on the subway. The diversity of commuters in each car is like a microcosm of humanity and an endless source of inspiration. I don't reference people entirely, but instead I put them together like Mr. Potato Heads. Since the commute is so kinetic and transient its the only way to work. For stability I make my important marks when the train makes a stop.I work in a small moleskin sketchbook that easily slides into my my pocket then snap photos of the work on an I phone. It's an extremely portable process.
